Elk Hair
Sedge

Hook – Sedge / grub hook sizes 10 to 20

Thread - Black 8/0 uni thread

Body – Fine Synthetic dubbing lightly dubbed to allow silk to show through. Hareline Super Fine No 12 (Pale Morning Dun) has been used

Wing – Bleached Elk Hair

Head – Elk Hair from Wing trimmed and heavily varnished

Notes

Great all round fly that works well as an emerger. If you are fishing fast streamy water the addition of a palmered hackle aids floatability. Good sedge imitation as the light falls and the varnished head creates a big wake when twitched across the surface, but ensure you have a strong tippet as the takes can be violent, great fun.
